Is Shifty Schiff Getting the Shaft from House Republicans?

by Daveda Gruber:

Adam Schiff, D-Calif., a strong opponent of President Trump, has made some Republicans angry enough to motion to censure the House Intelligence Committee Chairman.

Republican lawmakers are reacting to Schiff’s deliberate lie in what he called a “parody” reading of the July phone call between President Trump and President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine.

It has been reported that 125 lawmakers have now signed on with Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Az., as co-sponsors.

Biggs chairs the conservative House Freedom Caucus and first introduced the resolution late last month. has the support of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., House Minority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., and House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., who are among other ranking Republicans in the lower chamber of Congress.

Schiff has become a target of many and has earned himself the nickname “Shifty Schiff” from his role in the Trump impeachment inquiry.

Schiff was shown on live TV reading from a document, which was anticipated to be a transcript of the unclassified actual call between the two leaders, during the hearing of testimony from Acting Director of National Intelligence, Joseph Maguire.

The memo does not reflect a “verbatim transcript” but is based on “notes and recollections” of those memorializing the call between Trump and Zelensky.

Schiff’s self proclaimed “parody” reads, “I have a favor I want from you. And I’m going to say this only seven times, so you better listen good. I want you to make up dirt on my political opponent, understand? Lots of it, on this and on that.”

Schiff claimed that he was, in fact, reading a “parody” of the July phone call.

Although Democrats have the majority of House members and control the floor, Republicans can still force a vote on the resolution.

Here’s a tweet from Schiff that includes tweets from Trump:
