What did you do last night? I for one, watched President Trump speak. The 2019 State of the Union Address was given by the 45th President of the United States Donald Trump, on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at 9 p.m. EST in the chamber of the United States House of Representatives. The SOTU was addressed before a joint session of Congress.
The theme of last night’s SOTU address was unity. It’s really sad that the Democrats could not give an applause for jobs, border security, freedom and the lives of the unborn.
But it is the Democrats who want to murder a baby even if the baby survives an abortion. It is the Democrats who support members of their own party who want to raise taxes to possibly 70 to 90 percent and create a socialist environment through their want for healthcare for all including illegal immigrants.
Trump gave a clear message on socialism and the rights of the unborn. He said that America will never be a socialist country. He stood and condemned the killing of babies who could feel pain in the womb of a mother.
This is the first time in my life I have ever seen a president have to stand against socialism and the genocide of the unborn and newborns that exists today. We’ve lost too many babies through abortion. Too many innocent lives have been taken because it was not convenient for the mother.
Of course, you can understand that Democrats are not interested in these ideals that this president has. They sat with sullen faces as Republicans cheered and clapped.
Trump’s message resonated the belief’s of many who believe, as I do, but this did not sit well with Democrats.
Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, looked lost sitting behind Trump. She didn’t stand up when she should have and stood up too long when she did.
Pelosi obviously didn’t enjoy the night as much as I did. She tweeted this afterwards:
It will take days to fact-check all the misrepresentations that @realDonaldTrump made during tonight’s #StateOfTheUnion address. #SOTU https://t.co/m7UbKmzzRG pic.twitter.com/oKGdJUsVk3

Bernie Sanders, the Democrat Senator from Vermont, did not look pleased but then, his ideals do not align with the president. Sander’s demeanor matched his berated comments that came after the SOTU.
Sanders tweeted this after the SOTU:
Tonight, Trump repeated some of the most extreme anti-women attacks coming from the far right. At a time when we see an unprecedented and coordinated attack against a woman’s right to choose, we must fight to make sure that every woman has the right to control her own body. #SOTU

This was, in my opinion, the best speech Trump ever gave. It touched on Trump’s accomplishments, which, when spelled out, are part of a very long list.
Trump invited guests to this SOTU, which will stand as a milestone event in history. The guests were seated throughout the chamber and Trump used their presence to highlight the words he was delivering.
The attentive guests who were in attendance were introduced to the lawmakers both young and old. He did an amazing job with this.
World War ll veterans Private first class Joseph Riley, staff sergeant Erving Walker and sergeant Hartman Zeitcheck were first to be introduced by Trump.
The astronaut who placed the first American flag on the moon, Buzz Aldrin, was introduced to applause from the crowd.
Alice Johnson, a rehabilitated prisoner sentenced to life in prison for a first time non-violent drug offence, had tears in her eyes as she stood up for her introduction.
Matthew Charles, who was sentenced to 35 years in prison for selling drugs and related offences is the first person to be released from prison under the First Step Act that Congress passed.
Eleven year old Grace Eline, who suffered from brain cancer has completed her chemo treatments. She had raised more than $40,000 for cancer research and was introduced by Trump.
Tom Wibberley, whose son, Navy Seaman Craig Wibberley, was one of the 17 sailors lost on the USS-Cole. Wibberley was introduced and stood as Trump spoke.
The Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh horrific attack that SWAT Officer Timothy Matson, who is still going through surgeries after being shot seven times while he chasing down the killer, was introduced.
Also, survivor of the anti-Semitic Synagogue attack, Judah Samet, who is a Holocaust survivor who narrowly escaped death in a concentration camp was in attendance and was asked to stand.
All in all, I was totally impressed with the evening. Trump stated facts and did not mince words.
