Will the Kill Switch Option be Used in Impeachment Trial?

Is it better to have a short impeachment trial or a longer drawn out impeachment trial? All this will depend on what the immediate evidence that is presented includes.

It has been reported that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell R-Ky., is working on finalizing a rule to be included that would be a safety valve to be able to dismiss the articles of impeachment after some evidence is presented.

Senator Ted Cruz R-Tx., has made statements that the Senate trial could last six to eight weeks or longer  if it is decided by Senators to hear from additional witnesses.

Hearing from additional witnesses could interfere with the campaigns of Senators. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. They could very well be pulled off the campaign trail.

It appears that GOP Senators consider that this is not to their advantage.

Republicans have said they supported affording Trump the opportunity to cut the trial short.

Republican Missouri Senator Josh Hawley R-Mo., said he would be “very, very surprised” if McConnell’s resolution didn’t include that kind of kill switch.

Hawley said in reports, “I am familiar with the resolution as it stood a day or two ago. My understanding is that the resolution will give the president’s team the option to either move to judgment or to move to dismiss at a meaningful time.”

Hawley tweeted:

Democrats are upset that McConnell has been holding the final resolution with the rules and not giving information until McConnell deemed his entire resolution fit for the Senators and the public to see.

McConnell doesn’t have to publish the final version of his resolution until Tuesday but it will most likely come out today.

Sources have said that the House managers have absolutely no idea what the structure of the trial will be.

Senator Lisa Murkowski, R-Ak., said she’s comfortable waiting to decide if more information would be needed for the Senate’s impeachment trial until after hearing arguments from House managers as well as attorneys for the president.

Murkowski wants to see senators hear the case and ask questions, which would be in writing and handed to Justice John Roberts to read aloud before making any determination whether witnesses or documents would be needed.

Democrats may try adding certain witnesses to an organizing resolution. McConnell, at that point, could move to table such a request and Murkowski said that she would support a tabling motion.
No one wants to see a re-play of the circus that went on in the House. The Senate does not want to be seen in that kind of light and most Americans, who watch these things, don’t want to see that kind of nonsense.

Law professor Alan Dershowitz is set to present an argument against impeachment during the Senate trial. There will be no need for witnesses if his presentation succeeds. Criminal-like conduct is required for impeachment and Dershowitz allegedly believes there is none.

Will this be a long trial or a short one? Only time will tell. Which would be better? It depends on if Dershowitz is correct in his explanation.

Even with careful study and a discerning mind it is, at times, difficult to get a grip on the Liberal thought process as it feels as though I am watching a deformed, warped subspecies try to drink water with a fork.

Now we know it’s never going to happen but they continue forward dipping the prongs into the glass and stabbing themselves in the face all the while proclaiming that it isn’t working because President Trump keeps moving their hand or climate change has caused the water to evaporate before it has a chance to reach their ever flapping maws.

I’d compare them to a five-year-old child, but I was once five, and never scratched the surface of Progressive puerility.

Diversity is another term for skin color bigotry and what Carrie up there is trying to say (It appears Heebie Jeebie Stevie has some issues with women) is that Art should be judged on its MERITS but other menial items like employment, promotions, surgery, academics, law enforcement, and the MILITARY should be a bigoted concept where preference is given to specific melanin deposits, regardless of merit, but ART well now ART must be judged through a lens of Progressive Affirmative Action Purity.

For her own protection Elizabeth Warren shouldn’t be allowed to walk around without headgear and a bite stick, as she appears to be constantly having seizures, and she should never be alone with any type of fluid filled bottle without a nipple attached.

The current leader of the Presidential Diversity Party is a bigot from Delaware who called Barack Obama “clean” yet according to reports the “blacks in South Carolina” are his firewall against the Rapey Communist (Sanders) the Cherokee Communist (Warren) and the “Queer” Communist (Buttigiggy).

What’s crazy about that last sentence is it is all true and DOCUMENTED, unlike thirty percent of the Democratic Party.

The “blacks in South Carolina” have been told by the DNC that they have four choices.

Who Said Trump Admin Broke the Law?

On Thursday a legal opinion by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) said that President Trump’s administration broke the law when defense aid was withheld to Ukraine.

The Ukraine aid, which is the meat of the president’s impeachment trial, was allegedly withheld, according to the GAO, without the right to hold it back.

There was $214 million allocated to the Department of Defense for security assistance. It was appropriated by Congress and for that reason the administration, according to the GAO, did not have the right to hold it back because it happened to disagree with its allocation.

The opinion was in writing and said, “Faithful execution of the law does not permit the President to substitute his own policy priorities for those that Congress has enacted into law. [The Office of Management and Budget] OMB withheld funds for a policy reason … not a programmatic delay. Therefore, we conclude that the OMB violated the ICA [Impoundment Control Act].”

On Thursday the OMB made it clear that it disagreed with the GAO report.

OMB spokesperson Rachel Semmel said, “We disagree with GAO’s opinion. OMB uses its apportionment authority to ensure taxpayer dollars are properly spent consistent with the President’s priorities and with the law.”

Now it becomes more clear as to why Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., was demanding that the Senate consider additional documents as evidence in the upcoming impeachment trial.

Schumer said, “The GAO opinion makes clear that the documents we requested in our letter last month are even more needed now because GAO confirmed the president broke the law. All senators will get a chance to vote to obtain these documents next week.”

The Trump administration, through the OMB, withheld a total of about $400 million of security assistance from Ukraine last summer.

The opinion also raised constitutional concerns about the lack of cooperation from the Trump and his executive branch officials in conjunction with the GAO’s investigation.

In the opinion’s conclusion a reluctance to provide a fulsome response, on the part of the OMB and the State Department. The opinion’s author, GAO General Counsel Thomas H. Armstrong, inferred that there was interference with the GAO’s oversight role on behalf of Congress.

This is at the core of the impeachment trial that has become the focus of lawmakers. It started after Trump asked Ukrainian President Voldomyr Zelensky to allegedly investigate the family of his 2020 rival, Joe Biden while the White House allegedly was withholding an Oval Office visit from Zelensky in exchange for that investigation.

That situation originally started the whispers about a “Quid Pro Quo” that soon was changed to bribery and then to abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Meet Pelosi’s House Impeachment Managers

On Wednesday Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi presented the members of the House who will serve as House mangers and will be the prosecutors against President Trump in the Senate impeachment trial.

The trial is expected to begin early next week and Pelosi D-Calif., had a few things to say.

Pelosi said,  “I am proud to present the managers who will bring the case which we have great confidence in impeaching the president for his removal. The emphasis is on litigators.”

House managers will be:

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y.

House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y.

Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo.

Val Demings, D-Fla.

Sylvia Garcia, D-Texas

Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif.

Schiff will be the lead manager. He led much of the impeachment committee.

Nadler’s  panel drafted the articles of impeachment.

Lofgren is no stranger to presidential impeachment proceedings, as a Judiciary Committee staffer, during former President Richard Nixon’s and former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment.

Pelosi tweeted this:

Pelosi insisted that the charges against the president will be a stain on his legacy, and reiterating that an “impeachment that will last forever.”

Pelosi said, “This is a very serious matter and we take it to heart in a really solemn way. It’s about the Constitution, it’s about the republic if we can keep it and [senators] shouldn’t be frivolous with the Constitution of the United States even though the president of the United States has.”

She then added, “The president is not above the law. He will be held accountable. He already has been held accountable. He has been impeached and you can never erase that.”

Okay, I have a problems with the managers especially Schiff who is the lead manager. If the Senate, after going over all the articles of impeachment, decide to call witnesses, Schiff would be one of the witnesses that I’d like to hear from after all, he met the whistleblower, who we all know who he is, yes, it’s still Eric Ciaramella.

Who’s the Current Democratic Frontrunner?

Who do you think the Democratic frontrunner is at this stage of the race for the leadership of the party?

It appears that President Trump’s re-election campaign believes that the leader of the pack of Democratic contenders for the head of the party is now Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Weeks before the caucuses kick off the nominating season the polls in Iowa are showing the self proclaimed Democratic Socialist, Sanders, as the frontrunner.

Over this past weekend the Des Moines Register published results of its poll that showed Sanders leading in Iowa.

The polls shows:

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders with 20%

Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren with 17%

Former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg with 16%

Former Vice President Joe Biden with 15%

The Trump campaign has made it clear that it does not matter which candidate Trump eventually runs against in the general election.

Trump’s tweets pretty much sum up his opinion on his potential opponents. He even mentions billionaire Mike Bloomberg and Senator Cory Booker, D-NJ., who just pulled out of the race.

A few days ago I was having a conversation with a friend. He’d just had one of his cars broken into and was struggling as to why it happened.

“They took twenty bucks and a pair of sunglasses. What’s the point?”

It’s called California.

The State with the best year round weather (Hawaii not included) beautiful forests, incredible mountains, serene deserts, and the Pacific Ocean, has become a dump.

Horrible roads, crushing taxes, trash, graffiti, human waste and a harmful school system has forsaken the gifts of nature.

I looked at my friend and said, “People say all the time that things are changing. They are wrong. Things have changed. The only question now is what are we going to do about it.”

Sadly in California, not much.

There is a reason for this.

California is now filled with other nationalities and groups.

The Golden State is filled with self-proclaimed Indians, Russians, Chinese, Pakistanis, Mexicans, Hispanics, Latinos, Africans, Liberals, Progressives, Democratic-Socialists, Communists, Sorenos, Nortenos, La Raza, MS-13, Iranians and Persians, homeless, Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transgenders, and Queers.

California even has people who don’t know who they are, but know that they don’t know which is better than not knowing what they don’t know.

This is called the Bay Area Rumsfeld Effect, or in other words the idiot who tried to Marshall Plan Iraq, which Obama turned into ISIS, while funding Iran, Hamas, and Hezbollah with pallets of cash.

California will continue its slide into chaos because the one group that it must have is leaving in droves.

This group made up of free thinking Individuals is known as AMERICAN and they have had enough and are leaving the mess behind for greener pastures in Tennessee, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, etc.

According to reports so many AMERICANS have left, the largest populated State in the Nation will lose a seat in the House of Representatives, for the first time.

I have no doubt, if all the criminal foreign nationals were deported, California would lose more than one, and our hospitals, schools, jails, and prisons could stop having fifty-two different interpreters on call.

We might even be able to get through the DMV in an eight hour period or not be required to have “Real ID” otherwise known to Democrats as “voter suppression”.

Still, where are my manners.

How selfish of me to be discussing the plight of Cali when Climate Change is burning down half of Australia.

It was funny to watch the Liberals sit there and take shot after shot about their idiocy, hypocrisy, and support for their “God” Harvey Weinstein.

Tom Hanks and crew sat fugly in their suits and dresses, having just stepped over needles and urine, fresh from arrival in their limos and jets, ready to consume more in three hours, than the entire country of Haiti, also known as CFC.

Liberals thought I was referring to Chlorofluorocarbons . . . oh who am I kidding.

They have no idea what I just said, or how to even pronounce it.

It’s kind of like Qasem Soleimani or in Liberal speak yes I’ll have a Salami Quesadilla.

Good ol Liberals, you’d think for once they’d approve of President Trump as they are looking for everyone but themselves to consume dramatically less.

Will Pelosi Give Up Articles of Impeachment to Senate?

On Friday Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said that she’ll send impeachment articles to the Senate next week.

Pelosi, even though the impeachment of President Trump was, as far as Democrats were concerned, urgent and keeping Trump in office was a security risk to the U.S. could not have been anywhere near as urgent as they made it sound.

House Democrats voted on the articles of impeachment on December 18th. Pelosi has been holding onto them since.

After trying to get the Majority Leader of the Senate Mitch McConnell to agree with the way she wants the trial held, Pelosi must have come to terms with the fact that she doesn’t control the Senate nor its rules.

Pelosi wrote a letter to her colleagues explaining what they should expect next.

Pelosi wrote,  “I have asked Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler to be prepared to bring to the Floor next week a resolution to appoint managers and transmit articles of impeachment to the Senate. I will be consulting with you at our Tuesday House Democratic Caucus meeting on how we proceed further.”

This past week some Democrats were making their frustrations heard over the speaker’s approach to the matter.

In any case, Pelosi is still pressing on about important new information on the Ukraine controversy which is at the heart of impeachment.

The memo reads, “I am very proud of the courage and patriotism exhibited by our House Democratic Caucus as we support and defend the Constitution.”

She added, “In an impeachment trial, every Senator takes an oath to ‘do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws.’ Every Senator now faces a choice: to be loyal to the President or to the Constitution. No one is above the law, not even the President.”

Well, the Constitution hasn’t been brought up by Democrats with this much reference for as long as I can remember. When it becomes a focus of the Democrats to keep citing the Constitution, you can be sure they are using it as a talking point to stress that they are doing everything in a constitutional or legal manner.

Several Democrats lawmakers have voiced their opinions and are not pleased with this delay.

Some of those who were not happy with the delay are, Senator Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., Senator Angus King, D-Maine; Senator Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn.; and Senator Chris Coons, D-Del.

Pelosi made an official announcement that supported her memo.

Senator Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, was early to jump on the delay tactic.

Grassley said in a statement of his own, “Speaker Pelosi threw the United States Congress into unnecessary chaos with this pointless delay. From the beginning, it’s been unclear what the goal of this hurry-up-and-wait tactic was or what the country stood to gain. We now know the answer was nothing.”

The Iowa senator went on to say, “We’ve had three weeks of uncertainty and confusion, causing even more division. Regardless, I will take my role as a juror seriously and review the evidence presented by both sides before making any determination.”

The next step for Pelosi will be to determine who will serve as House managers to prosecute the case against the president in the Senate trial.

The trial in the Senate may begin next week.

This whole facade will go on until Majority Leader of the United States Senate Mitch McConnell , R-Ky., either calls for a vote or the whole case gets dismissed.

Did the Obama Regime Pay for the Missiles Fired at US?

On Wednesday former President Barack Obama took some heat as President Trump blamed the last administration for money given by the Obama regime to Iran.

Trump has claimed that the money given to Iran by the Obama administration was used to pay for missiles that were aimed at U.S. troops in Iraq.

The nation listened and watched as Trump spoke the morning following the Iranian regime’s launching of more than a dozen missiles at Iraqi bases which house American troops.

The missiles were fired by Iran in a retaliatory attack for the U.S. strike last week that killed top Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.

While referring to settlement money the U.S. paid to Iran in 2016, Trump said from the White House, “The missiles fired last night at us and our allies were paid for with the funds made available by the last administration.”

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA) is the Obama-era Iran nuclear deal. The U.S. withdrew from it in 2018.

Supporters of the deal claimed it kept Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.

Trump on the other hand renewed his assertion that it bolstered Tehran.

Trump said, “Iran’s hostilities substantially increased after the foolish Iran nuclear deal was signed in 2013, and they were given $150 billion, not to mention $1.8 billion in cash. Instead of saying thank you to the United States, they chanted ‘Death to America.’”

He added that Iran went on a “terrorist spree” with that money “and created hell in Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq.”

He went on to say that it was with that money that the missiles fired late Tuesday were funded.

Trump has never been a fan of the deal and zeroed in particularly on the money that was unfrozen or sent to Iran directly in the darkness of night.

It cannot be determined exactly how the missiles were paid for but some Republicans have connected the Iran settlement money to the attacks.

While on Fox News’ “Hannity” on Tuesday night, Texas Senator Ted Cruz said, “In a very real sense, the missiles that we saw fired at U.S. servicemen and women tonight were paid for by the billions that the Obama administration flooded the Ayatollah with.”

The money that was paid in cash, was transferred with a planeload of $400 million delivered to Tehran on Jan. 17 2016. On the same day Iran agreed to release four American prisoners.

The payment of $1.3 billion that remained was reported to have been paid within weeks of that first payment.

Then there is $150 billion which is an estimated value of Iranian assets that had been frozen abroad in financial institutions as part of international sanctions. That money was unfrozen as part of the deal.

That money could generate about $55 billion in liquid assets.

After leaving the Obama-Iran deal, the Trump administration has put back sanctions on Tehran. Violations by the Iranian regime by stockpiling uranium has brought back the restrictions.

Trump has called for other countries to break away from the deal and secure a new one.

Trump said, “The time has come for the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Russia and China to recognize this reality. They must now break away from the remnants of the Iran deal or JCPOA. And we must all work together toward making a deal with Iran that makes the world a safer and more peaceful place.”

Soleimani Funeral Causes Deaths in Stampede

According to reports in Iranian state media, as many as forty people have died and about two hundred have been insured during the Tuesday funeral procession for Iranian General Qassem Soleimani who was killed in a U.S. led airstrike.

The meshing of people that led to the deaths and injuries occurred in Kerman, in southeastern Iran, which is the hometown of the deceased Soleiman.

The numbers were not reported initially and are still uncertain but Pirhossein Koulivand, who is the head of Iran’s emergency medical services, gave the casualty toll in an interview with state TV. The death total can go up due to injuries that are being treated.

Koulivand said, “Unfortunately as a result of the stampede, some of our compatriots have been injured and some have been killed during the funeral processions.”

Videos posted online showed people lying lifeless on a road while others were shouting and trying to help them.

This isn’t the first time that chaos irrupted during a funeral possession in Iran. In 1989 the funeral procession in Tehran of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. In that incident the remains of the deceased half naked body tumbled out of an open coffin and the scene was captured on live state television. Mourners were seen blocking the path of a truck carrying the deceased leader of the Iranian revolution. His burial shroud was torn off and his body was knocked to the ground.

The body was airlifted by military helicopter and the TV broadcast cut short. The remains were then rewrapped in traditional Muslim burial attire and then placed in a metal casket for burial.
Soleiman was killed on Thursday at Baghdad International Airport. He was the leader of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ elite Quds Force.

Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis who was the deputy commander of Iran-backed militias known as the Popular Mobilization Forces and five other people were also killed in the U.S. airstrike.

On Monday, the death of Soleimani led to a procession in Tehran which drew over one million people in the Iranian capital. The funeral procession continued into Iran’s holy city of Qom. Another huge crowd turned out for that.

Soleimani’s remains and those of the others killed in the airstrike were brought to a central square in Kerman where the stamped occurred where he was set to be buried Tuesday. Those plans have now been delayed.

The leader of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Salami, spoke in Kerman and threatened to “set ablaze” places supported by the United States over the killing of Soleimani. The crowd of supporters chanted “Death to America” and “Death to Israel!”

Iran has promised retaliation to American interests for the death of Soleimani.

The chants of death, in themselves, would seem to be a promise of retaliation of sorts, but then again, Iranian extreme Muslims have been chanting threats of death for as long as I can remember.
Only time will tell what is yet to come. I can you, my readers, that Soleimani and his cohorts were very evil men and had the blood of Americans on their hands.

Sometimes the killing of those who are so evil is the only way to stop them from continuing their reign of terror that would continue to take innocent lives of Americans, our allies and even their own people.

Threats to Attack White House Made by Iranian MP

It has been reported that Iranian MP Abolfazl Abutorabi has threatened to attack the White House.

This statement comes after a message from President Trump that promised severe consequences if Iran escalates hostile actions with the U.S.

The message from Trump comes through tweets from the president.

A question from Abutorabi about how the Islamic nation should react to the death of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani sparked the response.

According to the Independent Abutorabi said “We can attack the White House itself, we can respond to them on the American soil. We have the power, and God willing we will respond in an appropriate time.”

Abutorabi called Soleimani’s death during an American airstrike  “a declaration of war,” and that a swift, strong response was necessary.

Abutorabi said, “When someone declares war, do you want to respond to the bullets with flowers? They will shoot you in the head.”

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said “harsh retaliation is waiting for the criminals whose filthy hands spilled his blood,” while speaking after the death of Soleimani.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani made a promise to “take revenge for this heinous crime.”

On Sunday Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said that Soleimani’s death puts the entire region at the beginning of a “completely new phase.”

At a rally in southern Beirut, Nasrallah reportedly called the killing of Soleimani a “clear, blatant crime” that will transform the Middle East.

The Independent’s international correspondent, Borzou Daragahi, doubted the likelihood of an attack on U.S. soil. He allegedly said that Abutorabi was known for inflammatory language and that Iran does not necessarily have the military capabilities of striking the U.S. with missiles.

I certainly don’t believe that Iran has the capabilities of striking American soil at this time.

Had former President Barack Obama been able to continue in the manner in which he was operating, for example, sending cargo planes filled with cash, then Iran would have accomplished their mission to destroy America and Israel.

Trump has just put a big damper on those plans.
