Meet Pelosi’s House Impeachment Managers

by Daveda Gruber:

On Wednesday Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi presented the members of the House who will serve as House mangers and will be the prosecutors against President Trump in the Senate impeachment trial.

The trial is expected to begin early next week and Pelosi D-Calif., had a few things to say.

Pelosi said,  “I am proud to present the managers who will bring the case which we have great confidence in impeaching the president for his removal. The emphasis is on litigators.”

House managers will be:

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y.

House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y.

Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo.

Val Demings, D-Fla.

Sylvia Garcia, D-Texas

Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif.

Schiff will be the lead manager. He led much of the impeachment committee.

Nadler’s  panel drafted the articles of impeachment.

Lofgren is no stranger to presidential impeachment proceedings, as a Judiciary Committee staffer, during former President Richard Nixon’s and former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment.

Pelosi tweeted this:

Pelosi insisted that the charges against the president will be a stain on his legacy, and reiterating that an “impeachment that will last forever.”

Pelosi said, “This is a very serious matter and we take it to heart in a really solemn way. It’s about the Constitution, it’s about the republic if we can keep it and [senators] shouldn’t be frivolous with the Constitution of the United States even though the president of the United States has.”

She then added, “The president is not above the law. He will be held accountable. He already has been held accountable. He has been impeached and you can never erase that.”

Here is a video of the televised announcement:

Trump must have been watching because he came back with a tweet:

Okay, I have a problems with the managers especially Schiff who is the lead manager. If the Senate, after going over all the articles of impeachment, decide to call witnesses, Schiff would be one of the witnesses that I’d like to hear from after all, he met the whistleblower, who we all know who he is, yes, it’s still Eric Ciaramella.

There are photos of Ciaramella with the Schiff family. Here is one:

Schiff is adamantly against calling Ciaramella as a witness and I’d like the American people to find out why.

Will Pelosi Give Up Articles of Impeachment to Senate?

by Daveda Gruber:

On Friday Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said that she’ll send impeachment articles to the Senate next week.

Pelosi, even though the impeachment of President Trump was, as far as Democrats were concerned, urgent and keeping Trump in office was a security risk to the U.S. could not have been anywhere near as urgent as they made it sound.

House Democrats voted on the articles of impeachment on December 18th. Pelosi has been holding onto them since.

After trying to get the Majority Leader of the Senate Mitch McConnell to agree with the way she wants the trial held, Pelosi must have come to terms with the fact that she doesn’t control the Senate nor its rules.

Pelosi wrote a letter to her colleagues explaining what they should expect next.

Pelosi wrote,  “I have asked Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler to be prepared to bring to the Floor next week a resolution to appoint managers and transmit articles of impeachment to the Senate. I will be consulting with you at our Tuesday House Democratic Caucus meeting on how we proceed further.”

This past week some Democrats were making their frustrations heard over the speaker’s approach to the matter.

In any case, Pelosi is still pressing on about important new information on the Ukraine controversy which is at the heart of impeachment.

The memo reads, “I am very proud of the courage and patriotism exhibited by our House Democratic Caucus as we support and defend the Constitution.”

She added, “In an impeachment trial, every Senator takes an oath to ‘do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws.’ Every Senator now faces a choice: to be loyal to the President or to the Constitution. No one is above the law, not even the President.”

Well, the Constitution hasn’t been brought up by Democrats with this much reference for as long as I can remember. When it becomes a focus of the Democrats to keep citing the Constitution, you can be sure they are using it as a talking point to stress that they are doing everything in a constitutional or legal manner.

Several Democrats lawmakers have voiced their opinions and are not pleased with this delay.

Some of those who were not happy with the delay are, Senator Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., Senator Angus King, D-Maine; Senator Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn.; and Senator Chris Coons, D-Del.

Pelosi made an official announcement that supported her memo.

Senator Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, was early to jump on the delay tactic.

Grassley said in a statement of his own, “Speaker Pelosi threw the United States Congress into unnecessary chaos with this pointless delay. From the beginning, it’s been unclear what the goal of this hurry-up-and-wait tactic was or what the country stood to gain. We now know the answer was nothing.”

The Iowa senator went on to say, “We’ve had three weeks of uncertainty and confusion, causing even more division. Regardless, I will take my role as a juror seriously and review the evidence presented by both sides before making any determination.”

The next step for Pelosi will be to determine who will serve as House managers to prosecute the case against the president in the Senate trial.

The trial in the Senate may begin next week.

This whole facade will go on until Majority Leader of the United States Senate Mitch McConnell , R-Ky., either calls for a vote or the whole case gets dismissed.

Is Nancy Pelosi Getting Coal for Christmas?

by Daveda Gruber:

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi D-CA., cannot be celebrating Christmas in a cheerful way. After all, she is holding onto the articles of impeachment that were supposed to go to the Senate.

Pelosi has had some frustration with the press when asked about why she broke tradition and rules for the first time in the nation’s history and did not hand the articles of impeachment to the Senate.

She actually snapped at a reporter who asked her about why she didn’t give the articles to the Senate and said, “Any other questions because I’m not going to answer any more questions on this… I’m not going to go there anymore.”

Does Pelosi think she can extend her rule to the Senate as well as the House? Maybe she’s living in an alternate universe? That universe must have a nice collection of spirits, in particular, vodka.

She has explained that she wants to make sure that the trial in the Senate, which holds a Republican majority is fair.

Watching the impeachment hearings to investigate if impeachment had cause in the House of Representatives was painful for me. There was no fairness. But then, the House has a Democratic majority and Pelosi is their leader.

Pelosi has no constitutional authority to make demands on the Senate’s procedure. But, would she even understand that? The Founding Fathers must be rolling over in their graves after being referred to more during the past few weeks than in decades. Democratic lawmakers seem to believe that by evoking the Constitution, you make the public think that you are doing things in a lawful manner.

Unfortunately, Republicans are much more intelligent than Democrats give us credit for. We actually pay attention to politics and we’re very aware when we are being fooled or lied to by the mainstream media.

Our system of government was created to not let government get out of control with power.

The truth of the matter is that Madame Speaker is obsessed with power and she is mistaken if she believes that the House has any power over the Senate.

Maybe Pelosi would like to change the rules, but fortunately for us, she can’t.

In responses to criticism from across the aisle that questioned her motives, she  answered, “Frankly, I don’t care what the Republicans say.”

Needless to say, Pelosi has two comrades in her quest. Adam Schiff D-CA., and  D-NY., are Pelosi’s chief clowns. They have created an unfair and unjust atmosphere that is beyond what I ever could have fathomed could actually take place.

Democrats have claimed that President Trump presents an immediate threat to our country and its security. They maintain that the need to eject him from office is an urgent matter. They could not afford to wait until November when voters, through an election, will have the chance to decide the fate of the president.

Because of such an emergency, people were told that House Democrats did not have the time to subpoena the witnesses they thought would make their case. Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and former National Security Advisor John Bolton were not subpoenaed because of the lack of time.

The urgency seems to have dwindled.

The White House did bar some of the president’s aides from testifying but Schiff and Nadler could have challenged in the courts if they wanted to. They declined to do so.

Maybe Pelosi sees that the articles she has a grip on are not worth the paper that they are written on. She needs more evidence and she could actually think that witnesses of her picking, could provide that.

Nancy seems to be stressed to the max. When you impeach a sitting President, in this case, President Trump, on flimsy charges that even their own constituents are bewildered about, it cannot have a happy ending.

She was asked not long ago whether she hated Trump, she didn’t respond well. Pelosi ranted about being raised a Catholic and that she doesn’t hate anyone. Really? Her hatred for Trump has been her driving force to impeach him.

Pelosi, in trying to act somber, wore black to announce the impeachment partisan vote results. Her black attire didn’t fool anyone, including me. I saw the smirk on her face.

But even with the looming of impeachment hanging over Trump’s head, his approval ratings have improved. In the 48 hours following the partisan vote, the Trump campaign collected more than $10 million and the Republican National Committee raised a record $20.6 million in November.

I believe that money talks and in this case it is the voters who are speaking with their wallets.

I must assume that the vodka will be flowing at the Pelosi household during the holidays. Drowning your sorrows in a bottle seems to be a rather popular sport for Pelosi.

It’s probable that Pelosi may get coal for Christmas.

Did Pelosi Threaten Trump?

by Daveda Gruber:

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi D-Calif., said words pertaining to the whistleblower that sounded like a threat to President Trump.

The whistleblower was the person who generated the whole impeachment inquiry by the House Intelligence Committee.

Pelosi did an interview on CBS’ “Face The Nation” and during the interview she relayed a message to Trump when she said Trump was in her “wheelhouse” if he made an effort to go after the anonymous source who is known as the whistleblower.

Pelosi said, “I told the president you’re in my wheelhouse when you come after the whistleblower.”

What does the phrase in your wheelhouse mean? Well, here’s the definition.

If something is in your wheelhouse, it’s well within your area of expertise. So “in someone’s wheelhouse” refers to something being within one’s areas of competency and control.

Pelosi must believe she’s in control of Trump. That comes as news to me.

The speaker believes that it of the utmost importance to protect the whistleblower’s identity.

Pelosi also said, “This is really important, especially when it comes to intelligence, that someone who would be courageous enough to point out truth to power and then through the filter of a Trump-appointed inspector general who found it of urgent concern and then took it to the next steps.”

Does Pelosi know that even I know who the whistleblower is? Apparently not or she’s just blowing air about keeping Eric Ciaramella’s name hidden.

No, Pelosi didn’t say his name; I did.

Pelosi then added that if Trump wanted to present his case, he should come before House lawmakers.

She said, “The president could come right before the committee and talk, speak all the truth that he wants if he wants. He has every opportunity to present his case.”

I wonder if Trump actually heard what Pelosi said? Maybe Trump should read my article? That would be awesome.

Who Had the Meltdown?

by Daveda Gruber:

Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., on Wednesday accused President Trump of having a “meltdown” as Pelosi accused Trump of having the “meltdown” as the Speaker stormed out of the Syria meeting in the White House.

Tensions have been growing between Pelosi and Trump and it appears that those who witnessed the explosive behavior unfold are wondering if Trump and Pelosi have reached a point of no return in their relationship.

After Pelosi stormed out of the meeting along with a couple of her Democratic cohorts, Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer held an spontaneous news conference outside the White House.

The threesome told reporters that they walked out of the meeting on Syria policy after Trump allegedly called Pelosi either a “third-rate politician” or “third-grade politician.” They added that Trump was angry and suggested the Democrats probably appreciated communist Islamic State terrorists in the Middle East.

Pelosi said, “What we witnessed on the part of the president was a meltdown, sad to say.”

The Speaker later added , “I pray for the president all the time, and I tell him that ˗˗ I pray for his safety and that of his family. Now, we have to pray for his health ˗˗ because this was a very serious meltdown on the part of the president.”

It is alleged by a top Democrat that Trump began the meeting by making a remark that “someone wanted this meeting so I agreed to it.”

Trump allegedly then said, “I hate ISIS more than you do.”

Pelosi allegedly responded, “You don’t know that.”

Trump allegedly then said, “President Obama drew a red line in the sand [in Syria].  In my opinion, you are a third-grade politician.”

Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., later told reporters he heard Trump use the term “third-rate politician.”

After those remarks, it is alleged that the Democrats walked out of the meeting and Trump had a final comment and said, “I’ll see you at the polls.”

After the meeting came to a close, Trump tweeted:

McCarthy Calls on Pelosi to End Impeachment Inquiry

by Daveda Gruber:

On Thursday House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy R-Calif., sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi calling on her to suspend the impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

Citing the need for “transparent and equitable rules and procedures” to be established, McCarthy criticized Pelosi about the “swiftness and recklessness” which House committee chairs have proceeded with the impeachment inquiry.

McCarthy also brought up the need for Republican participation in the proceedings.

McCarthy said in his letter, “Unfortunately, you have given no clear indication as to how your impeachment inquiry will proceed – including whether key historical precedents or basic standards of due process will be observed. In addition, the swiftness and recklessness with which you have proceeded has already resulted in committee chairs attempting to limit minority participation in scheduled interviews, calling into question the integrity of such an inquiry.”

The Minority leader took to Twitter and tweeted:

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., was alleged to have been leaning to limiting Republicans’ ability to ask questions during Thursday’s testimony by former U.S. envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker.

Quite a few questions were posed to Pelosi by McCarthy in the letter. He asks Pelosi if she has plans to hold a full House vote on authorizing the impeachment inquiry.

McCarthy, in the letter, also asks the speaker whether or not she plans to grant subpoena powers to both the committee chairs and the ranking members. It also asks Pelosi whether she’ll allow trump’s lawyers to attend the hearings.

Generally, it appears that McCarthy was asking Pelosi for a fair shake in the questioning of former American diplomat Kurt Volker.

There are representatives from the Intelligence, Oversight and Foreign Affairs Committees, but only the Intelligence Committee can ask questions.

Republicans who have been in the closed door session are already commenting.

Jim Jordan R-OH., came out of the non-televised session during a break and spoke to reporters.

Here is what he had to say:

According to Jordan, Volker, who resigned from his post as the U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine until his resignation on September 27, 2019, voluntarily answered questions and gave responses that were not to the detriment of the president.

This impeachment investigation started over a phone call in which Trump allegedly asked Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s family’s dealings in the Ukraine.

It is alleged that Trump threatened to withhold $400 million in military aid unless the Ukraine investigated Biden and his son Hunter Biden’s dealing with that country.

Want to Read the Transcript of the Call Trump Made to Ukraine?

by Daveda Gruber:

What could President Donald Trump have said to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in July? You can actually see it here and decide for yourself.

The transcripts of the call have been released and nothing is redacted.

Of course, after reading, Democrats will interpret the wording one way and Republicans another way. Did you expect anything different?

Read the report here:

Ukraine Call Transcript by Fox News on Scribd

The person who is actually looking bad in the transcript is former Vice President Joe Biden.

Trump told the American people that the stock market rising after the transcript came up is a great indication that the phone call had nothing wrong in it and had more to say.

Here is Trump speaking:

Trump tweeted this:

Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi came out of closed door meetings on Tuesday and said that the Democrats are opening an investigation into the impeachment of Trump. But the Democrats jumped the gun and didn’t bother to wait until the transcript was released today to look at the transcript of the phone call that was at the helm of the Whistleblower letter that allegedly accused someone of wrong doing.

But Democrats have not seen the Whistleblower report. The name of the Whistleblower is not known as of yet.

Democrats now want to see the Whistleblower’s accusation; in fact, they’re demanding it.

The mention of promised money being held back for information on Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden is what the Democrats were banking on. There was no such message in the phone call according to the transcripts.

But then, Democrats have an unusual way of reading and seeing documents in a rather different light than Republicans.

The blame game is in full force. Democrats, in fact, one in particular, Representative Adam Schiff, D-CA.,  is stating that money was withheld and that the president of the Ukraine allegedly got a Mafia like threat that didn’t have to be actually stated for him to assume he was being threatened by monies being withheld.

Hear/see Schiff speak here:

The question of the alleged deeds of Joe Biden being investigated for alleged possible wrong doing involving his son Hunter is actually something that should be investigated.

Congressman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., is calling for Attorney General William Barr to recuse himself from a possible Ukrainian probe.

Haven’t we had enough with the Russia probe? Do we want to spend another few years on a new probe now that it is rather obvious that nothing came out of Mueller’s report on a very costly investigation? No!

The president has been talking to world leaders at the UN this week. The problems in the world are at the forefront but the Democrats have taken this week to over-shadow Trump with attacking him once more.

How many times can these lawmakers step away from the job that they are paid for and create investigations that are very expensive but produce no particular outcome?

It appears that the answer is as many as they can.

Get out the popcorn because this investigation cannot end well for the Democrats. They’ve been caught with their hands in the cookie jar. My humble opinion on this matter is that the former vice president is the one who will go down over this.

Did AOC Call Pelosi a Racist?

by Daveda Gruber:

The ‘race card’ was played by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, on Wednesday. The freshman congresswoman pulled out her ‘ace in the hole’ and showed her hand to Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi.

AOC hit Pelosi hard, suggesting that she was “singling out” herself and her colleagues based on their race.

Congress passed a border funding bill that four Democratic Congresswomen opposed. That caused a feud that has been festering between Pelosi and the four opposing freshmen representatives who are, Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., and Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass..

Pelosi had told the New York Times, “All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world, but they didn’t have any following. They’re four people, and that’s how many votes they got.”

On Wednesday, Ocasio-Cortez told The Washington Post that the “persistent singling out” by the Speaker may be more than “outright disrespectful.”

AOC went on to say, “When these comments first started, I kind of thought that she was keeping the progressive flank at more of an arm’s distance in order to protect more moderate members, which I understood.”

She continued, “But the persistent singling out … it got to a point where it was just outright disrespectful … the explicit singling out of newly elected women of color.”

On Tuesday Ocasio-Cortez had already said, in an earlier interview, that Congress was using women and minorities as “bargaining chips.”

She said, “When it comes to women of color in Congress, particularly the freshmen, it’s that we both have encountered and represent communities that have been auctioned off and negotiated off for the last 20 years. And we’re over it.”

AOC continued, “We see in these negotiations all the time— it’s like fighting for black communities or policies that help women. They’re bargaining chips. And they’re the first chips that are reached for in any legislative negotiations.”

Those comments have enraged Pelosi. On Wednesday, she slammed back with, “You got a complaint? You come and talk to me about it. But do not tweet about our members and expect us to think that that is just okay.”

There is apparently, a feud going on in the House of Representatives. The four progressives are not in alliance with Pelosi. They don’t listen to others who have been in government for a lot longer than they have been.

Some may say that this is appealing and that people should think for themselves and not just go along with the established Politian. Pelosi is more comfortable when she is in control of those around her and doesn’t like when she is put behind the eight ball.

The family feud in the Democratic party doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. Pelosi and the group of four don’t seem to be on the same page. Is Pelosi out of touch with her own party? Maybe, she is.

Personally, I’m not taking sides. I don’t agree with either side. Let them bicker and waste their energy.

It is my opinion that when the unity in a party is destroyed, the power of that party is at stake. Look at the Republicans. The GOP has different views within it. There are Libertarians who have their own way of thinking and there are Republicans, in name only, who vote with Democrats often.

We, on the right, have witnessed lack of unity. The Democrats, however, were pretty much united. That is over now. Fighting within the same party never helped anyone. The right has narrowly avoided destruction because of it and now Democrats are the ones who are divided.

ICE Operation to Deport Illegal Migrants to be Delayed

by Daveda Gruber:

On Saturday President Trump gave a clear warning to illegal immigrants. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will be doing their job and apprehending migrants who are here illegally and they will be sending them home.

Needless to say, Democratic politicians were opposed to this.

Trump was not hiding his intentions. “They will be removed as fast as they come,” Trump said.

Trump took to Twitter today and tweeted this today:

While outside the White House on his way to travel to Camp David Trump said that “everybody who came into the country illegally will be brought out of the country very legally.”

It has been reported by The Washington Post that ICE is expected to target 2,000 families in up to 10 cities, including Chicago, New York, Houston and Los Angeles.

Earlier this week, Trump stated that ICE will “begin the process of removing millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States.”

ICE did put out a statement on Friday. They said that “due to law-enforcement sensitivities and the safety and security of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel, the agency will not offer specific details related to enforcement operations.”

ICE spokeswoman Carol Danko declined to discuss the operation but she did say that “as a law enforcement agency, ICE’s mission is to uphold the rule of law; operations targeting violators of immigration laws are not only standard practice, but within the statutory authority prescribed by Congress.”

ICE prioritizes arresting and removing illegal immigrants “who pose a threat to national security, public safety and border security.”

The statement from ICE also says, “In fact, 90 percent of aliens arrested by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations component in FY2018 had either a criminal conviction(s), pending criminal charge(s), were an ICE fugitive, or illegally re-entered the country after previously being removed.”

The Miami Herald reported:

“Miami will be one of the first cities where U.S. immigration authorities will target people for deportation as early as this Sunday, according to sources who were briefed on the enforcement action.

Immigration agents will target Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Baltimore, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York City, and San Francisco this weekend, sources from congressional offices and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement told the Miami Herald.”

ICE, apparently, has been getting ready for this operation for some time now. Allegedly, ICE will start the operation on Sunday and then continue.

Of course, Democratic local officials are calling to abolish ICE. Many are opposing the operation and not planning to assist ICE agents.

In one case, the Mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, made it very clear that CPD has terminated ICE’s access to CPD’s databases related to federal immigration enforcement activities.

Mayor Muriel Bowser of Washington, D.C. made sure to announce that the city “remains a proud sanctuary city, and we are committed to protecting the rights of all our immigrant families in the face of these disturbing threats.”

In California, Governor Gavin Newsom called the up-coming raids “cruel” while Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said that his city and local law enforcement will not participate in the operation.

An LAPD statement said, “The Department is not participating or assisting in any of these enforcement actions.”

Federal law enforcement will be on their own in Democrat cities and areas. Trump has called them mostly “high crime” cities.

Later things changed. Trump announced that the mass roundup would be delayed for two weeks. The delay would hopefully give Congress time for a bipartisan solution to the border crisis to be reached.

Trump Tweeted:

On a personal note, I don’t use Roundup Weed Killer because, in my opinion, it contains dangerous chemicals.

Now, if there’s going to be a roundup of illegal migrants, it’s going to be targeting people who could be dangerous to the community.

The show is getting more interesting and the popcorn smells good.

Is Pelosi Done with Trump?

by Daveda Gruber:

On Tuesday Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was not backing claims on impeachment but rather implying that her caucus has more support for not pushing for it than it has members who do want to roll with it.

Pelosi was speaking at the Fiscal Summit in Washington hosted by the Peter G. Peterson Foundation when she made the comment, “It’s not even close in our caucus.”

Pelosi’s comment was in response to a question directed at her about if she would move on impeachment if a majority of her caucus supported it. She also added, “Why are we speculating on hypothetical’s?”

Madame Speaker, despite calls from her fellow Democrats, has so far resisted impeachment proceedings. The progressive wing of her party is not on the same track as their leader.

Pelosi is trying to cover all corners and would not rule out impeachment. She said, “It’s not off the table. I don’t think you should impeach for political reasons and I don’t think you should not impeach for political reasons.”

The Speaker then added, “It’s not about politics. It’s not about Democrats and Republicans. It’s not about partisanship. It’s about patriotism to our country.”

When Special Counsel Robert Mueller gave his public statement, he did emphasize that his report did not exonerate the president of obstruction of justice accusations. Many Democrats took this to mean that it was a call to action by Congress.

Some of us did not seem to feel the same way. Even Pelosi is reluctant to fall behind the strategy her progressive members want to go for. She’s did, however, she did say that she ultimately wants to see Trump “in prison.”

As you can well imagine, President Trump did not take Pelosi’s comments lightly.

The tweets from Trump were rather clear:

Pelosi also sad that she has had it with the president. She said, “I’m done with him.”

Pelosi mocked Trump on his tariff fight with Mexico. She also called him the “diverter of attention in chief.”

Pelosi declared that Trump doesn’t deserve attention for backing off his threat to impose escalating tariffs on Mexico. She also cast doubt on the idea that Trump struck a substantive deal that will benefit the United States.

Pelosi was in full force and mocked Trump’s tariff threats. She said, “They were designed to take your attention away from the Mueller report.”

On Tuesday the Democrats are pushing a resolution through the House that would make it easier to sue the Trump administration. They would also make it easier to sue potential witnesses. This would pave the way for legal action against those who defy subpoenas in Congress’ Russia probe and other investigations.

The Democratic members of the House, through their resolution, would authorize lawsuits against Attorney General William Barr and former White House counsel Don McGahn for defying subpoenas pertaining to special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.

Not that committee chairmen don’t have enough authority, but the resolution would empower committee chairmen to take legal action to enforce subpoenas without a vote of the full House, as long as they have approval from a bipartisan group of House leaders.

What is the next move by the Democrats after they approve the resolution? It may be dealt with depending on what kind of a mood Pelosi is in.

On Monday House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler stated that they will hold off on suing Barr. The panel struck a deal with the Justice Department to receive some important documents from Mueller’s report and Nadler pushed the pause button.

All members of the committee will be able to view the material.
